India Devloping $10.00 Laptop for Students

Officials in India announced that they are developing the world's cheapest laptop computer. A Minister of State for Human Resource Development said research was underway to create the laptop, especially for use by students.

D. Purandeswari, speaking to the e-India annual summit on information and communication technologies stated that the Indian Institute of Science and the Indian Institute of Technology are carrying out research geared toward production of this breakthrough device.

Earlier this year, India's Tata Group unveiled the world's cheapest car, the "Nano", with a pricetag of $2500.00.
